poland meeting Saturday, March 21st

We stayed one more day in Wloclawek because we had no fight to Istanbul from Warsaw on Saturday. We went to visit Warsaw. We saw the historical aspects of Warsaw. It was really fantastic and we were very lucky to see that city. We enjoyed our day and during the day our only conversation subject was the week of our meeting in Poland.

poland meeting Friday, March 20th

The day started with the meeting for teachers. The subject of the meeting was really important because we managed to take over the final report. We focused on the common parts and completed them.
The day started with the workshop for the students. Monika and her team prepared a very nice but hard puzzle for the each team. There were 1000 pieces and when it was completed the picture of Europe was on it.
After the workshop we created the soul of the Future Body. We brought with us the photos of the people and their speech balloons on which there were written their hopes about the future.

Then we created the body circle. It was really a nice view to see six body connected to each other in a circle. It is really the view of the union. It is really the connection of the cultures. It is the end of a very successful project.
After the lunch, the students were involved to Polish Spring Custom-The drowning of Marzanna-. They knitted a huge fabric doll which is filled with hay and sent it to the river to celebrate the coming of Spring.
At the same time of the students’ workshop, the teachers visited the China Factory. We learned the general aspects of creating a china trinket and we saw the talented women who paint the china bowls, cups or etc. The shapes of the flowers were specific to Poland. They were really nice and we bought some souvenir for our families from that factory.
At the evening, the host families and the teachers created the Polish village for us. They prepared delicious meals and deserts. At that night we had a chance to talk with the host families of our students. They were really friendly and kind. Thanks to the host families of our students J.

After the Polish Village evening, there were parties for the students and the teachers. The students enjoyed their night with a party. The teachers came together in a music club and had a very unforgettable evening.

poland meeting Thursday, March 19th

The great day started at 6.50 in front of the hotel. We arrived to Gdansk at 10.00. We were divided in two groups and the guides told us the details of Gdansk. We started the tour in Dlugi Targ (The Long Market). The Dlugi Targ was really fantastic. We were among the historical buildings. They preserve their history with respect. Congratulations to Polish people for this respect to their history.
On the visit of Artus Court, we found a photo of our one of the previous presidents. He had been there also so we are also some special people who had a chance to visit Artus Court.
Then we visited the Amber museum. The ambers were fantastic and fabulous.
While walking in the streets, entering the churches and museums, we felt that we were living at that time of age.
The other visit was St. Mary’s Church. We saw the first computer in the world. It was a kind of calendar in fact. The huge calendar and the huge church brought us to the medieval times.
Gdansk was a huge and historical town which still lives with history. The people of Gdansk were really friendly and the atmosphere was really relaxing. After the trip of the town we sat by the river and drank a cup of coffee while feeling the nice atmosphere of the town.
After the lunch, we visited the Westerplatte. It was located on the Baltic Sea coast mouth of the Dead Vistula. It was the Gdansk harbor channel. From 1926 to 1939 it was the location of a Polish Military Transit Depot. It is famous for the battle of Westerplatte, which was the first clash between Polish and German forces during the invasion of Poland. But the best think we remember from that place was the nice and beautiful beach of Baltic Sea. The history of Westerplatte was depressing.

After the Westerplatte trip, it was time to return Wloclawek. The day ended for the teachers with the dinner at the hotel. We had a nice meal and enjoyed the meal and the evening.
