The teachers and the students
gathered at the hotel at 7.50 to depart to Ciechocinek which is known for its
unique saline graduation towers. It was really so relaxing to walk there and
breathe the fresh air. Chiechocinek fully deserves all praises as one of the
most popular health resort towns in Poland.
After this refreshing break, we left
for Torun which is one of the oldest cities in Poland and also the birthplace
of the astronomer Nicolas Copernicus. The Guide was great and she made us learn
all the historical details of this ancient city. We saw the house of Copernicus
was baptized and so on. It was fascinating to see a city preserving its
medieval layout and many Gothic buildings.
While the teachers were exploring
the city, the students were also playing a city game which they enjoyed a lot.
At 13.30 we had lunch in a nice
restaurant. After lunch, we joined in a workshop in the Gingerbread Museum that
we all had a lot of fun trying to learn how to make gingerbread. At the end of
the amusing activity, we were awarded with the certificates and ha our own, self
made gingerbreads J
Later on, we had free time for
shopping in Torun and then departed to Wloclawek.
In the evening we went to a
restaurant close to our hotel for dinner and it was St.Patrick’s day to wear
green and drink Irish green beer. Thanks God, we had Johan wearing green at our
table J and we all tasted Irish beer and
enjoyed the time.
